PS Gender opens the National Gender and Climate Workshop

State Department for Gender Principal Secretary Madam Anne Wang'ombe officially opened a workshop composed of National Gender and Climate Change leads and negotiators drawn from about 30 African countries today at the UN complex in Gigiri.
The workshop themed "Equality in Climate Change Action: Planning for Gender Inclusive Future in Africa" brought together participants from the continent's Central, Eastern, Southern and Western regions to secure a unified position on climate action ahead of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to be held later in the year.
PS Wang'ombe, in her remarks urged the negotiators to propose interventions that will enhance resilience especially among the most vulnerable groups.
