Gender PS Anne Wang'ombe hosts the Africa Pre-SB60 workshop

This morning, our Principal Secretary Anne Wangombe officially opened the Africa Pre-SB60 AGNES Strategy meeting which brought together climate change experts and negotiators from about 30 African countries who are gender and climate change experts and negotiators. 
The workshop's main objective is to develop common thematic positions as a continent in the various climate change negotiation streams. In her remarks, State Department for Gender's Principal Secretary Anne Wangombe underscored the intrinsic connection between #gender and #climatechange. 
She also called for meaningful climate action that prioritizes gender-responsive approaches. The workshop will also prepare African climate change negotiators for the upcoming technical negotiations to be held in Bonn, Germany in June 2024.
