Vision

A society free from gender discrimination and violence that thrives on the foundation of its cultural diversity and heritage.

Mission

To promote and coordinate gender mainstreaming, the fight against Gender Based Violence, social economic empowerment, preservation of culture, the arts and heritage programs for sustainable development.

Core Values

The Ministry recognizes the significance of embracing a set of core values that underpin our work. These values serve as guiding principles that shape our approach and ensure the effective implementation of our mandate. 
The Ministry is committed to the values below:

  1. Respect for Diversity: Our staff shall respect and appreciate  differences in age, gender, ethnicity, culture, religion and other social dimensions while offering services to the public.
  2. Equality: We shall promote access to equal conditions and opportunities for all people to participate and contribute equally to political, economic, social, and cultural development and benefit equally from the results.
  3. Accountability:  We shall remain transparent and responsible to ensure effective and efficient responses to our actions in our service provisions to citizens.
  4. Professionalism: We shall execute our functions observing high standards of ethics, practice and timelines with utmost care and diligence
  5. Integrity: Our staff shall be honest, transparent, and fair in execution of our functions internally and externally.
    Teamwork: We shall promote teamwork to enhance service delivery. The Ministry will further inculcate a sense of shared and collective responsibility for the execution of its mandate.
